To relieve stress and help you fall asleep more easily, spend a few minutes doing a yoga breathing practice known as alternate nostril breathing.

- Place your right thumb over your right nostril to close the airway.
- Inhale through the left nostril for 10 counts and then use your ring finger to close off the left nostril.
- Lift your thumb, and exhale out of the right nostril.
- Breathe in through the right nostril for 10 counts. Place your thumb over your right nostril again, then exhale out of your left nostril.
This completes a single round. Try to do at least 5 rounds per sitting. This breathing practice calms the nervous system and steadies the mind.
